Throughout the course we will question what cultural and social advocacy means in a contemporary and global context. We will apply our sociological lens and interpret the different meanings and experiences of human traits and behaviors, as they can be used to identify distinct and interactive levels of engagement, paying particular attention to dimensions and differences between groups and the dynamic aspects of our social and personal characteristics that advocate decision-making. Students will gain cross-cultural awareness and local and global advocacy skills by the end of the course.
